Artist Statement

Marion paints plein air and in her studio to create striking and vibrant images. Her scope of work includes collections of still life, landscapes and seascapes painted from scenes throughout the world. Her objective is to share those breathtaking moments and experiences through her paintbrush.  With splashes of color and unique compositions, Marion renders the subject with a palette of color to express warmth and beauty of nature and express awareness to things greater than the eye can see.  The Chicago water tower collection for example suggests the strength of the city, the industrial history and the tragedy that occurred during the Great Chicago Fire.  See Chicago and All that Jazz.

 

About the Artist

Marion is a graduate of Ohio State University and studied art at the Lake Erie College and Ohio State University. She is a student and artist member of the Palette and Chisel, Chicago, Illinois, Oil Painters of America, Chicago Artists Coalition, Senior Artist Network and an artist member of The Bonnet House, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Her works are in private collections. She has exhibited in the Midwest at the Palette and Chisel, Pumpernickel Inn and Gallery, Union Pier, Michigan, and the Chicago Cultural Center. In Florida she exhibited at the Uncommon Gallery, Fort Lauderdale, the Parker Playhouse, Lighthouse Point Yacht Club and Hillsboro Mile Boat House. Marion welcomes commissions and encourages requests that meet personal specifications.

 

Professionally, Marion served in county and state government and at the federal level as the Regional Administrator for the United States Department of Health and Human Services. In recognition of significant career accomplishment and civic involvement, Marion received numerous national awards and recognition including Who’s Who of American Women.
